About Kevin Murphy Photography
I started my photography journey over 20 years ago with my first Sony digital camera. Over the years I’ve become a solid Nikon user—and I’m very happy I did. My first subjects were stationary, since I wasn’t up for big challenges. I quickly learned that I had a lot to learn about photography and … my camera! Through subjects like flowers and landscapes, I learned the exposure triangle and the value of mastering my camera.
Along the way, I’ve explored several different styles of photography such as portraits, wildlife, landscapes, motorsports (NASCAR, NHRA), and even macro photography. But I soon realized my photos could tell a story, and that’s when I discovered composition. I soon found that to be my signature difference when it comes to my style of photography and others.
Fast Forward to Today
I’m shifting my focus to teaching through workshops that cover many aspects of photography for beginners to advanced.
I really enjoy talking about my photos, so I decided to tell them in a blog, or a series of blogs! Here I share my experiences, stories, and maybe even a good tip for your next photo journey or project.
I’ve also decided to sell some of my fine art prints through [My Print Store](Print Store). I hope you will check them out! I’ve traveled all over the Arctic to share these experiences and amazing landscapes and wildlife with you.

As a father to three daughters and a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, I understand the value of preserving life’s special moments.
